Grass Roots Coffeehouse Rockdale Congregational Church 42 Fowler Road, Northbridge, MA

The Grass Roots Coffeehouse presents "Christmas in the Valley"  at the Rockdale Congregational Church, Northbridge, MA.  We are celebrating 10 years of traditional, contemporary, and original Christmas and seasonal music featuring Blackstone Valley Bluegrass, Amy Gallatin, Roger Williams, Karen Wilber and Rick Lang.  Doors open at 6:45, hot foods, beverages, and a Christmas cookie bake sale will take place.  Concert will be held in the sanctuary.

The Grass Roots Coffeehouse welcomes “The Stable Hands” on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 7:30 PM The Stable Hands Band is unique in that it did not start out to be a band, it just happened. It all began with a friendship that grew naturally with an appreciation of the music, and a love and respect for each other. They practice music as an art form within the bluegrass genre and are excited to present their collection of original material. The band enjoys working with each other and collaborating with special emphasis on the fun part of arranging a new song and hearing it come to life. The Stable Hands are Rick and Janet Baskowski, banjo/guitar of North Brookfield, MA, and Sue and Tom Connolly, upright bass/ mandolin of Chatham, N.Y. They are two married couples that have grown into a family of close friends. You will laugh and cry as they deliver their “brand” of contemporary Acoustic Bluegrass. The Grass Roots Coffeehouse is located at the Rockdale Congregational Church, 42 Fowler Road, Northbridge, MA. Hot foods, beverages and desserts are available. A portion of the proceeds goes to benefit the church. Doors open at 6:45 and admission is $12/$10 seniors (60+), $5 students. Grass Roots Coffeehouse Rockdale Congregational Church 42 Fowler Road, Northbridge, MA

The Grass Roots Coffeehouse welcomes Blackstone Valley Bluegrass to close out the season on May 9. Blackstone Valley Bluegrass has been tearing it up for over 16 years, playing a mix of traditional, contemporary and original bluegrass music.  The shows are energetic, entertaining, and just a good time all around.  Each member is an accomplished instrumentalist and singer and together they have created a unique sound that fills venues every year.  Dave Dick on banjo and guitar, Dan Nowlan on mandolin and guitar, Ken Taylor on bass and guitar, and Bob Dick on guitar, resophonic guitar and bass. The Grass Roots Coffeehouse is located at the Rockdale Congregational Church, 42 Fowler Road, Northbridge, MA. Hot foods, beverages and desserts are available. Christmas in Boxboro

United Church of Christ Boxboro 723 Mass Ave, Boxboro, MA

The 2016 "Christmas in the Valley" concert tour will kick off its 13th season this December. This one of a kind Christmas show features traditional, contemporary, and original Christmas music performed with acoustic instruments and vocals. The music got its start back in 2003 with Blackstone Valley Bluegrass' Bob Dick's solo CD "Tidings of Comfort and Joy" which in turn, got New Hampshire songwriter Rick Lang interested in writing original Christmas songs and the subsequent recording of  his "The Season of  My Heart" CD.  The first Christmas in the Valley concert was held in Northbridge MA, and then Stratham, NH.  The concerts series eventually expanded to the hometowns of the various performers of the show as well as a couple of new venues. Today, Blackstone Valley Bluegrass along with Rick Lang, Karen Lincoln Wilber, Roger Williams, and Amy Gallatin have put together a broad spectrum of Christmas music set in an acoustic style that is truly a unique experience. Due to strong attendance and growing interest, “Christmas in the Valley” is fast becoming an annual tradition all across New England; its popularity growing each year.  The 2016 tour will include a total of five concerts in three states (NH, MA, and CT). “Christmas in the Valley” showcases holiday music from… A New England favorite, Blackstone Valley Bluegrass Band has garnered a reputation for high-energy shows laced with powerful three and four part harmonies and fast but tasteful picking, coupled with winning on-stage camaraderie.
