Each year at Joe Val we hold instrument, CD, and gift basket raffles and instrument auctions to help raise money for our Education programs. You can buy tickets during the festival at our T-Shirt/CD/Raffle tables in the back of the main performance hall. Smaller prizes will be raffled off throughout the festival with the major prizes toward the end of the festival. Instrument auctions are held during the festival and conclude near the end of the festival as well.
There are two instruments that will auctioned this year:
AJ400 Guitar – Generously donated by Johnson Strings
AJ 400 Professional Series Dreadnought Guitar from Johnson String is a professional quality instrument at an affordable price. Based on the timeless Martin D-18, these guitars feature a solid Sitka spruce top with Sapele back & sides. It has powerful tone, clean workmanship, and handsome traditional aesthetics. (List: $225)
MD404 Mandolin – Generously donated by Eastman Guitars
The Eastman MD404 is individually hand-built using traditional materials and “Old World” craftsmanship. This popular mandolin features a solid spruce top with a solid mahogany back and sides. It’s rounded out with a rosewood fingerboard and an adjustable ebony bridge. The A-style body with oval sound hole produces liquid tones and excellent projection. (List: $600)
