Brittany Haas and Nic Gareiss

Brittany and Nic are notloB veterans many times over, we are very pleased to present them in our newish beautiful listening room at Carriage House of Violins in Newton Upper Falls. BRITTANY HAAS http://brittanyhaas.com/ California-born Brittany Haas is widely regarded as one of the most influential fiddlers of her generation. She grew up honing her craft in fiddle camps nationwide, and came to her unique sound through the old-time fiddling of Bruce Molsky and the innovative stylings of Darol Anger. A prodigious youth, she began touring with Darol's Republic of Strings at the age of 14. She simultaneously studied baboons in the evolutionary biology department of Princeton University (and minoring in music performance, composing with professor Dan Trueman) and joined seminal chamber-grass band Crooked Still. She has toured with them since, and also performed with Yonder Mountain String Band, Tony Trischka, Alasdair Fraser & Natalie Haas (her cellist sister), Abigail Washburn, and The Waybacks. She played her fiddle on Steve Martin's Grammy Award-winning CD, "The Crow," and performed in his band on Letterman and SNL. She released her debut self-titled solo album at 17, produced by Darol Anger and featuring Bruce Molsky, Mike Marshall, Alison Brown and others. Currently residing in Nashville, she is the co-leader of the Brittany Haas/Dan Trueman band who released their debut record "CrissCross" in 2011. Blackstone Valley Bluegrass is a dynamic, entertaining quartet that has been performing for over 16 years.  The group features Dan Nowlan on mandolin, Ken Taylor on bass, Dave Dick on banjo and guitar, and Bob Dick on guitar and resophonic guitar. All members sing and the band is well known for their tight trios and full quartets.  Put that together will some hot picking and lots of laughs, and you can have a great evening with Blackstone Valley Bluegrass.  We hope to see you there! Join the Bump Road Band for an evening of old-timey driven bluegrass at a sweet listening room adjacent to Nelson's Candies in Wilton, NH.  (Candy store WILL be open during the show!)  Shake off the winter blues as the House Band opens the show at 7PM.  Bump Road Band takes the stage at 8Pm. BYOB--we'll just provide the bluegrass.

It will be called Western Mass Grass and will be located at Sweet Music: Studio & Store, 185 W.
