Acousticana, Chasing Blue, and Jesse Burdick and The Grand Republic

One night, three bands! Acousticana, Chasing Blue, and Jesse Burdick and The Grand Republic go on at 9, 10:15, and 11:30, respectively. Banjo Boy Burdick will be up with his band from Providence, RI, to celebrate the release of their latest CD, "Croatan." Chasing Blue is an ensemble of recent Berklee grads who're helping to redefine the Boston bluegrass scene with their talented songwriting and phenomenal instrumental chops. Don't take my word for it...join us for one fun night of Americana in one of Boston's finest listening rooms and hear for yourself. Hope to see you there!

BBU Kids Jam

Monthly Kids Jams in Brookline, MA Our monthly jams are open to all school-age kids, through high school, of all levels of experience. Kids receive group instruction as well as an opportunity to participate in a musical community. Some of our regulars are pretty good players -- and they're welcoming to newcomers, whether beginners or more experienced. The jams are hosted by the kids' parents, and led by experienced, patient and professional educators. There is no fee for the Kids Jam. The Jam is an outreach program of the Boston Bluegrass Union, and is supported by the BBU and your donations. In 2013, the Gibson Brothers won entertainer of the year for a second straight year at the International Bluegrass Music Awards as well as three other group and individual trophies.   Eric Gibson was named Songwriter of the Year and the New York-based quintet also won Vocal Group of the Year and Song of the Year for "They Called it Music," written by Gibson and Joe Newberry.  Both Eric and Leigh are phenomenal song writers and performers and clear crowd favorites. The Bluemoon Coffeehouse takes place under the twinkling blue lights at the parish hall of the Channing Unitarian Universalist Church in Rockland, MA.
