Fiddler Ellen Carlson has long been involved with the Joe Val festival, teaching at the Kids Academy and leading the Fast Track Fiddle Workshops for a number of years.  This year she brings her new band EC & The Darrellicks to the Joe Val Showcase Stage.  Determined to pull her brother, Darrell Carlson, and his rich, powerful voice out of the woodwork, they formed this band with some old band buddies.  Multi-instrumentalists Zach Ovington and Steve Roy will be snazzing up the bass and instrumental side of the group.  Darrell & Ellen have been playing together for over 40 years and have a large repertoire that they pull from that includes bluegrass, country and western swing.
