Description:
5th Annual Rochester (MA) Fiddle Contest next Sunday 2008.08.24 at the 9th Annual Rochester Country Fair RAIN OR SHINE UNDER THE BIG TENT FREE ADMISSION AND PARKING

Registration 11 am - 12:30 pm Contest starts at 1 pm
Registration fee: $10 per contestant
Contestants will have 5 minutes to play a unjudged warm-up tune (optional) and a judged tune of their choice on a fiddle/violin family instrument, with one accompanist (optional). No medleys or written music permitted.

5 classes:
Ribbons 1st - 5th:
-Junior Junior (7 - 12 years old), will play first and be given their ribbons immediately after their class.

Cash Prizes: 1st $100, 2nd $50, 3rd $25, ribbons for 4th & 5th -Junior (12 - 17 years old) -Open (18 - 55 years old) -Seniors (56 years or older) -Masters/Champions (Contestants of any age who have won Prizes in this or any other contest in the past)

Description:
Bluegrass Invitation Revue Band will be hosting a weekly bluegrass open mic every Sunday throughout the summer at Cup of the Bay Restaurant, in Onset Massachusetts. Open mic sign ups will be from 9:30 to 10 AM . The program will be from 10am to 12 noon. Best news of all, we get started in May and we'll go until Labor Day in September...Good food, fine coffee and fun music all on Onset Bay...What more is there?

You pick the peaches, we'll pick the tunes. Hayrides out to the peach orchards, cookout by the Lions Club, and some great music under the tent.

There is a covered area to keep pickers out of the rain, excellent food and beverage (please do not bring your own), and rest rooms available.

Location is 127 Massachusetts Avenue, Harvard, MA. Exit 28 off route 495. Take Route 111 North towards Harvard. It is one mile away from the 495 exit.
